Tell us a little about who you are and where your love of art began?
My name is Georgia! I have a sweet tooth, love house plants, and have many tattoos with every growing plans for more. I’ve always been a person with a creative and imaginative mind, and growing up I was always interested in art, drawing and painting. I did art through primary and high school and actually planned to do fine art at uni but I ended up doing graphic design instead. Honestly this might have been my best anxiety driven decision though, because it allowed me to explore a new creative path through design and still keep my passion for fine art seperate. Throughout high school and uni is where my art really began to take shape as I used it as an avenue to explore fashion, self identity and expression. After I graduated uni though was when I truly had the time to start making and posting on social media more regularly, which is when my little freelance biz started to form!
Please describe your creative space – whether it's your art studio or the backyard.
What inspired you to start your business?
Tell us about the inspiration behind some of the pieces you’ve made.
Honestly my inspiration comes from everywhere! I love painting landscapes and animals and still life and people and fashion etc, usually when I look for references I gravitate towards fun colours and textures and shapes. I like to think I’ve got on glasses that have the saturation turned all the way up haha! I also enjoy exploring memories, experiences and spaces, usually through still life.
Who’s your favourite singer or band at the moment?
I have a few artists I’m enjoying at the moment including Lorn, Sewerslvt, GAO the Arsonist, and A L E X.
Are you a sticker user or do you hoard them?
I definitely used to be a sticker hoarder but I’m trying my best to go through my current stash and put stickers everywhere!!
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not making your art?
Of course, we have to ask, what’s your favourite piece you’ve made? Please include a photo
My favourite pieces I’ve made definitely include my Knick-Knacks exhibition piece. I’m also really proud of my Gentle Encouragement apparel and my Springtime Sorbet paintings that I made for Inktober last year.
