Original risograph print, illustrated by Charcola.
Printed on 250gsm 100% recycled Envirocare white paper
What is risograph?
Risograph is a method of printing invented in Japan in the 1980s. Artwork is transformed into a master stencil which gets wrapped around a printer’s drum. Paper is fed into the printer, and the stencil is transferred onto the page. This method is repeated for each colour. There is minimal waste, and uses little electricity compared to typical printing techniques. It also has a very unique finish - the inks are vibrant and by separately printing each colour layer, the final artwork can create intriguing overlays and textures.
