Stash Hangs - Brisbane Journaling and Craft Meetups

Stash Hangs is a relaxed, social meetup for Meanjin / Brisbane locals who love stickers, paper, and analogue creativity in all its forms.

Whether you’re journalling, scrapbooking, planning, collaging, pen-testing, or simply craving some sticker banter, Stash Hangs is a welcoming space to sit down, make progress on your projects, and connect with like-minded people.

This is not a formal workshop - there’s no teaching, pressure, or expectations. Just a cosy, creative environment surrounded by others who “get it”.

Bring your current paper-based project, or simply bring yourself.

Daytime Stash Hangs
12:00pm – 3:30pm

Evening Stash Hangs
5:00pm – 8:00pm

These times are a guide only. You’re welcome to arrive later or leave earlier if needed.

As seating is limited, please be mindful of others who may be waiting for a space. Do not book unless you are sure you are able to attend and always let us know if you are no longer able to make it. 

Cost: $8.00 per session. This helps cover the basic costs of running the sessions, maintaining shared tools, and supporting staff to host the space.

What to Bring: 

• Your journal, planner, scrapbook, or paper-based project

• Any personal tools or supplies you love using

• Optional snacks or drinks
  

• Optional: anything you wish to share with the group or contribute to the craft trolley. 

If you don’t have a project and just want to come along to chat, browse, or get inspired, that’s completely welcome too.

Shared community tools and supplies include:

• Scissors and cutting tools

• Glue and adhesives

• Pens and basic stationery

• Selected materials from the Stash craft trolley

Please treat shared tools with care so everyone can enjoy them.

FAQ

Is this a workshop?
No - this is a social, self-directed meetup. There is no formal teaching. It’s a space to work on your own projects alongside others.

Do I need to stay for the whole session?
No. You can arrive or leave at any time within the session window.

Will there be food and drinks?
You’re welcome to bring your own snacks or drinks. There is a fridge, sink, and microwave available. Birds Nest and Ben’s Burgers are located nearby if you’d like to purchase food or drinks.

Can I shop during the meetup?
Yes. Our retail store can be opened upon request during the session, although we ask that you kindly wait until the designated time to make a purchase - so that our team member can also enjoy the meetup. 

You can also place an order online and select “Click & Collect” to pick it up during Stash Hangs.

Are beginners welcome?
Absolutely. Stash Hangs is open to all experience levels - from lifelong scrapbooking to complete paper based beginners.

Are kids allowed?
Children aged 12 and over are welcome but must be supervised by an adult at all times. Please note that most attendees are adults and the meetup is not structured for children. 

Parking and transport
Paid street parking is available nearby, with some free parking available during selected hours.

Fortitude Valley train station is a 6-minute walk away.
Bus routes 174, 175, and 204 stop within a 1-minute walk.

Accessibility
707 Ann Street is a heritage building and is not currently wheelchair accessible. There are two small steps at the entrance. We are actively working toward improving accessibility.
