Tell us a little about yourself and where your love of making began.
Hello! I’m Han (they/them), a queer multimedia creative based in Meanjin/Brisbane. I create custom portraits, prints, stickers and zines. I’ve been creating art since I could remember. I grew up with a Dad who was deeply passionate about all things pop culture - movies, video games, TV shows and music, so naturally I grew up surrounded by inspo!

What inspired you to start your business?
I was working as a graphic designer and one day, out-of-the blue, I was fired (lol). I decided to take my own art seriously and give it a proper crack turning my passion into a business.
One morning I woke up and had the idea to turn my cat into a caterpillar. As it turns out, a lot of people also loved the idea of becoming bugs! I now offer all sorts of custom portraits.

Can you describe your creative space?
She’s a simple space - a desk in my living room! If i’m not creating there, i’m in a cafe drinking too much black coffee.

What inspires your work, and are there any particular artists, themes, or mediums that influence your style?
The need to not take life too seriously inspires my work! Something I think we all need a little bit of right now with the current state of the world. I love retro colour palettes - 70s & 90s vibes. I’m heavily inspired by the media I grew up with - The Simpsons, Futurama, King of the Hill, Seinfeld (specifically the rad logo that had a million variants). Music and album design are also huge influences on my style!

What’s your favourite piece that you’ve created and why?
My favourite art piece I’ve created was one I created back in Uni. It was part of an exploration of different mediums. I put vegemite in stripes on a piece of bread with butter, my tutor loved it. I love it because it’s just so dumb, silly and playful - which is what i’m all about. It also taught me to lean into my silly ideas! And yes, I got a 7 too.

Are you a sticker user or a sticker hoarder? Where’s your favourite place to use your stickers?
Reformed hoarder! I love putting stickers on my kindle and ipad.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not creating?
Hanging out with my wife drinking coffee, thrift shopping, listening to music and taking our lil pup Billie to the park.
